Money: “the root of all good…”

As Ayn Rand wrote:

"Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to become the means by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of other men. Blood, whips and guns--or dollars. Take your choice--there is no other."

Saying that “money is the root of all good” may sound like an exaggeration and even if I think that is an exaggeration I could say for sure that money can be the instrument of good.
People that have money can afford to help their fellow man while people who don’t have it can’t even afford to help themselves.
Money is also the product of our sweat, it's a good thing, and it should not be spent lavishly.
People who are in misery are easy preys for every kind of immoral deals; we can see what happens in some ex-communist countries and in underdeveloped countries.
When I hear today so many leftist anti-capitalists specially in Europe trying to darken the virtues of Capitalism and promoting economic policies that have proven wrong in the past and in their own country experience, I ask myself what kind of world would this people want? Aren’t the lessons of the past fully understood? Because it’s “Blood, whips and guns--or dollars. Take your choice--there is no other.”. I made my choice.
